Walgreens Launches Health Education Campaign
Walgreens has started a new health education program to help its consumerssift through and find health services and discounts. The goal of thecampaign is to reach consumers where they seek information: in thestores, on-line, and in the community. Walgreens is currently workingwith the American Library Association and the US Department of Healthand Human Services to provide Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Serviceseducational materials on the new Medicare drug discount cards toconsumers at all of the nation's 16,400 libraries.
Walgreens also is encouraging Medicare-eligible consumers to visittheir pharmacist and learn about the Medicare drug discount cards. Pharmacistscan help consumers decide whether they will benefit from the programand help them find a drug discount card that best meets their needs.
