Pharmacy Times®

The flagship Pharmacy Times publication has been published since 1897. This monthly publication has expanded over time along with the role of pharmacists, and is dedicated to providing timely, accurate, and reliable information for pharmacists in the retail and community settings. The publication includes clinical information, product news, and practice updates, as well as pharmacist spotlights, feature articles, and case studies.

The content in Pharmacy Times is guided by the editorial advisory board, in addition to a fleet of contributing authors. Board members include experts and leaders from across the field, representing various pharmacy associations, schools of pharmacy, industry organizations, and independent pharmacies.

Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology

Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology is a bimonthly (with 2 additional conference-focused issues in January and July) partially peer-reviewed journal in that it contains both articles and peer-reviewed papers focused on the field of oncology pharmacy practice, with coverage of relevant news, research, conferences, and discussions. The journal is interested in receiving manuscripts for peer review on a variety of topics, including advancements in immunotherapy, precision medicine, targeted therapies, biomarker development, biosimilars in oncology, and combination therapies. The publication launched the peer review process for the journal in 2024, at which time the journal was renamed from Pharmacy Times Oncology Edition to Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology. This was not the first name change in the publication’s history, as the publication was previously named Directions in Oncology Pharmacy before the name was changed in 2021.

The publication takes guidance from the editor-in-chief, Zahra Mahmoudjafari, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, FHOPA, as well as the editorial advisory board (EAB) for the publication. EAB members support the peer review process for the publication, provide insight on trends in the field, recommend areas and topics of interest for the publication, as well as connect the publication with active pharmacy opinion leaders who can contribute to the journal.

Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Health Systems

Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Health Systems is a bimonthly partially peer-reviewed journal in that it contains both articles and peer-reviewed papers focused on the field of health-system pharmacy practice, with coverage of relevant news, research, conferences, and discussions. The journal is interested in receiving manuscripts for peer review on a variety of topics, including qualitative and/or quantitative impact of pharmacist-led initiatives, clinical pharmacy services and patient outcomes, patient cases exemplifying pharmacist’s value on the patient care team, drug dosing and protocols relevant to health-system pharmacy, and transitions of care implementation. Pharmacy Careers

Pharmacy Careers was established in 2006 as a publication intended for pharmacy students. Currently, it’s audience is pharmacy students across different fields of interest, including community, specialty, health-systems, oncology, and alternative career paths. It is published twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, to align with university semesters. It highlights work from pharmacy students, those who recently graduated, and pharmacy professional who wish to share their experience with the future of pharmacy.
