NIAMS Web Site Debuts in Spanish

NIAMS Web SiteDebuts inSpanish

The National Institute of Arthritisand Musculoskeletal

and Skin Disease (NIAMS) haslaunched a new Spanishlanguage

Web site, called En Espa?ol, whichoffers

health education and researchinformation about arthritis,

rheumatic diseases, and disorders ofthe bone, skin,

muscle, and connective tissue.

En Espa?ol gives Spanish-speakingindividuals an

opportunity to learn more aboutNIAMS' mission and how

it is implemented through researchand other initiatives to

improve the health of the nation.Also, the Web site contains

information about NIAMS'leadership and budget

and a list of contacts for queriesabout grants and clinical

trials. "Our Spanish-language siteis a step beyond production

of health information in Spanish. Itis our attempt

to make the NIAMS Web site moreaccessible to the

growing population ofSpanish-speaking individuals,"

said NIAMS director Stephen I. Katz,MD, PhD.
