Alana Hippensteele: Hi I'm Alana Hippensteele from Pharmacy Times. Today I'm speaking with

Samir Balile, the clinical pharmacy program manager of Giant Food Pharmacy on the value of a pharmacist.

Samir, what do you think the value of a pharmacist is today?

Samir Balile: Sure, when I think of the value that pharmacists really bring to not only the health care profession but as well to their communities is just accessibility, and I think, you know, nowadays with technology and advancements and just kind of everybody wants you to be accessible and that's something that, as a healthcare provider, pharmacists have got that. We're accessible, and that's the unique thing about being a pharmacist, and, you know, we're accessible 365 days a year usually, and we are just an amazing liaison between both patients and their physicians, and generally if you need anything like vaccine on Thanksgiving, you know, you're not going to get into your doctor’s office, and your pharmacist will be there for you and they're easy to get to.

Alana Hippensteele: Absolutely, absolutely.
