Here are 6 sessions to look for at this year’s meeting.
1. Opening Session
The keynote speaker for the ASHP Midyear 2019 is Condoleezza Rice, former secretary of state, former national security adviser for President George W. Bush, and a current professor of political science at Stanford University.
2. Pharmacy Forecast 2020: Trends That Will Shape Your Future
ASHP will debut its newest issue of the Pharmacy Forecast Report series, followed by top leaders in the industry identifying 5 or more trends in the external environment that will have a significant impact on health-system pharmacy practice over the next 5 years.
3. Innovations in Drug Information Practice and Research 2019
This session will evaluate the importance of new practice methods in pharmacies, in addition to recommending new services and research methods used by drug information specialists and centers.
4. Student Programming
Learn personal financial management from the president and CEO of Gateway Financial Advisors Inc, Shane Westhoelter, AEP, CLU, LUTCF, LTCP.
5. Young Leaders, Big Responsibilities: Preparing New Practitioners for Antimicrobial Stewardship
This session is intended to help students examine the role of the pharmacist leader in antimicrobial stewardship initiatives while identifying ways new practitioners can design and implement these plans.
6. Networking Sessions
Accredited colleges and universities, such as Wilkes University, University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, University of Michigan College of Pharmacy, and University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy, will host social functions throughout the conference.
