Cypress Focuses on Quality, Integrity, Service

A specialty pharmaceutical company on the rise.

When Cypress Pharmaceutical Inc (Madison, MS) opened for business in 1993, the company had only 1 cough and cold product. Today, it is a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops, markets, and distributes generic prescription and OTC pharmaceutical products to leading pharmaceutical wholesalers, chain drugstores, distributors, and other retail merchandisers.

Cypress constantly strives to achieve its goal of quality, integrity, and service. The company has been recognized multiple times for its accomplishments. A prime example is the Supplier Quality Award from Cardinal Health, which Cypress hasbeen awarded 5 years in a row, and in the past 9 years the company has earned the award 8 times. Cypress attains excellent customer service by allowing customers to place orders conveniently through its Electronic Document Imaging capabilities, accurately filling orders the day they arrive, and delivering them with reliable customer service.

Cypress has a robust portfolio of more than 200 marketed products for a broad group of therapeutic categories, including analgesics, cough and cold, fluorides and dental health, gastrointestinal, nutritional supplements, pediatrics, urinary tract products, and women's health. These products help provide the resources that enable the company to invest in future endeavors through the continuing development of products in the company's pipeline.

"Cypress has built its success on quality, service, and integrity. These same principles will be applied to the new projects, and customers can expect the same personalized treatment that they have come to expect from Cypress, regardless of the growth that we are now poised to realize in 2008 and 2009," said Greg Stofko, vice president of sales. "Our business model can sustain rapid growth with little to no change to our current approach."

Cypress has an aggressive product development pipeline that involves new drug applications and abbreviated new drug applications for more than 35 products . At present, Cypress has 8 submissions with the FDA and expects to file up to 20 submissions by the end of this year alone.

Cypress has successfully signed several in-licensing agreements with multinational companies in the past several years, including the recently announced agreement with Standard Chemical & Pharmaceutical Co Ltd of Taiwan, and will continue to employ strategic alliances as part of its overall pharmaceutical pipeline development.
