Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the Importance of Skin Care

Pharmacy Times® spoke with Jennifer Craig, PharmD, CSP, about Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the importance of skin care.

Craig said that the health care industry is constantly evolving and improving patient care services, but more specifically in specialty pharmacy, the collaboration of care has been key.

Further, with the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, Craig has seen pharmacists that are playing the same role, pandemic or not.

“I think more patients are obviously being outdoors, that separation, that social distancing but we are really just trying to counsel on encouraging preventative measures,” Craig said.

Craig also discussed Skin Cancer Awareness Month, counseling tips for pharmacists, and spreading awareness on the guidelines to proper skin care.
