(Schenectady, NY) Price Chopper Supermarkets and Produce For Kids, partners in the 12th annual “Get Healthy, Give Hope” campaign, raised $9,405 for area Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®.

The “Get Healthy, Give Hope” campaign, which ran in Price Chopper supermarkets from mid-June through July 2014, encouraged shoppers to make smart healthy food choices. When shoppers purchased fresh fruits and vegetables from participating companies, a donation was earmarked for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout Price Chopper’s six-state footprint.

“Not only does Produce for Kids encourage healthier choices, it teaches children the importance of giving back to those in need,” said Mona Golub, vice president of public relations and consumer services. “Price Chopper has long focused on encouraging new ways to adopt healthy lifestyles, especially for children who are establishing habits that will last a lifetime.”

Donations were kept in the regions where they were made and were distributed to Children’s Hospital Trust (Boston, MA), Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center (Albany, NY), Connecticut Children's Medical Center (Hartford, CT), Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Foundation (Utica, NY), Samaritan Medical Center (Watertown, NY), The Janet Weis Children's Hospital at Geisinger (Danville, PA), Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital (Syracuse, NY), Vermont Children's Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care (Burlington, VT) and Westchester Medical Center (Valhalla, NY)
