Pharmacist Steals the Heart of Homer Simpson

Season 27 of "The Simpsons" opened with Homer separating from Marge and falling in love with his pharmacist.

Season 27 of “The Simpsons” opened with Homer separating from Marge and falling in love with his pharmacist.

During Sunday’s season premiere titled “Every Man’s Dream,” a pharmacist voiced by Lena Dunham makes a date with Homer Simpson after filling his prescriptions for medications meant to help with his newly diagnosed narcolepsy.

It all begins when Homer sleeps through a fire he started at work by dismissing an alarm in order to sleep more. At the hospital, a physician diagnoses Homer with narcolepsy and gives him a prescription.

Homer heads over to the pharmacy but falls asleep standing in line, forgetting to pick up his medications.

Frustrated with this, Marge Simpson takes Homer to a marriage counselor, who tells the couple that they will only be happy if they “spend a little time apart, followed by a little more time apart, followed by a divorce.”

After moving out of the house, Homer heads to the bar, where he gets a call from the pharmacy to pick up his prescription.

At the pharmacy, Dunham’s pharmacist character, Candace, asks Homer if he wants to go out.

The 2 of them venture out to a hipster bar, mix Homer’s narcolepsy medications with their drinks, and ultimately wake up in bed together.

I got the chance to play a real piece of work on The Simpsons this Sunday!

But fans of Marge and Homer need not fear, because in the end, it was all just Homer’s dream, within Marge’s dream, within the tattoo of Dunham’s Girls character, Hannah Horvath.
