The complexity of new regimens in the oncology space and the need for coordination of care across practice and pharmacy settings has reinforced and expanded the roles of pharmacists. In response to this changing landscape in health care, Pharmacy Times Continuing Education™, in partnership with Pharmacy Times™ and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacists Association (HOPA), is presenting the inaugural Oncology Pharmacists Connect meeting from June 15-17, 2023, in Austin, Texas.
This continuing education program is directed toward pharmacists practicing in oncology in multiple practice environments, including health-system, specialty pharmacy, outpatient clinic, infusion center, and managed care settings.

The program, chaired by Ryan Haumschild, PharmD, MS, MBA, director of Pharmacy Services at Emory University Hospital Midtown/ Winship Cancer Institute, is designed for oncology pharmacists to meet as a larger ecosystem of pharmacists working together to identify and develop solutions for responding clinically and operationally to rapidly evolving evidence reported at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting (ASCO).
The program agenda facilitates bringing pharmacists focused on cancer care from multiple practice settings together to discuss recently presented data; identify resources needed to successfully implement new therapies and make formulary decisions; examine challenges; and brainstorm solutions to meet organizational demands while improving patient outcomes. The core meeting will be composed of accredited sessions, with the primary format delivered as panel discussions to enable debate, discussion, and collaborative peer exchange.
