I’m Dr. Craig Beavers, your host, and in this introductory episode, we're excited to introduce you to the heart of this show—a place where we break down complex cardiovascular topics and bring you the insights you need to stay on top of this ever-evolving field.

Cardiovascular disease impacts millions of lives every year, and as pharmacists, we have the unique opportunity to help improve patient outcomes. This podcast is designed to give you a venue to hear about both the latest and classic cardiovascular evidence and best practices. We’ll bring in experts, patients, and pharmacists just like you, to discuss what’s working, what’s changing, and what’s next in cardiovascular care.

So, what can you expect from the Tell-Tale Heart Podcast? Well, every episode is going to be packed with practical information that you can put into action right away. Whether it’s a deep dive into a new trial or guideline, innovative practices in managing cardiovascular disease, or hearing directly from patients about their experiences, we’ve got something for everyone.

We’ll feature three types of episodes:

• Innovative Practices and Training Tips: We'll bring in guests who are on the cutting edge of cardiovascular care, sharing new ways to manage patients, train future pharmacists, and bring fresh ideas into the field.
• Patient Perspective: This is a special one. We’ll hear from real patients about their journeys with cardiovascular disease, and how pharmacists play a crucial role in their care."
• And for our special episodes, we’ll bring you quarterly panels with stakeholders from the cardiovascular world to discuss major issues, and occasionally, we’ll cover meetings to bring you the highlights you need to know.

We know that as a pharmacist, you're often looking for evidence-based, actionable information that makes a difference for your patients. But we also believe that being a great health care provider involves more than just clinical knowledge; it’s about staying curious and being engaged with the wider health care community.

So in each episode, we’ll ask our guests a fun question: ‘What are you reading, watching, or listening to?’ We think it’s important to know the person behind the expertise, and to connect over the little things that make us all human.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be doing a deep dive into key cardiovascular topics like Acute Coronary Syndrome Guidelines, what is coming out of the American College of Cardiology 2025 meeting, GDMT in heart failure, anticoagulation, and much more.
