Intraocular Lens Power Range Expanded for Cataract Patients

Bausch + Lomb has expanded the power range of its Trulign Toric intraocular lens (IOL), providing eye care providers more options for cataract patients.

With the new power range addition of 10 to 16.5 diopters in half diopter steps, the IOL is now available from 10 to 33 diopters.

The Trulign Toric IOL is indicated for primary implantation in the capsular bag of the eye for the visual correction of aphakia and postoperative refractive astigmatism secondary to removal of a cataractous lens in adult patients. It is the first and only toric IOL in the United States to correct for astigmatism.

While a standard toric IOL typically only provides focus for distance vision after cataract surgery, the Trulign Toric IOL provides clarity at intermediate and long distances, according to Bausch + Lomb. Almost all study participants who received the IOL reported no visual disturbances on refraction following cataract surgery.
