MINOCYCLINE HYDROCHORIDE CAPSULES

Indication: Minocycline hydrochloride capsules are Ranbaxy’s AB-rated generic equivalent of Minocin, or minocycline hydrochloride. Minocycline hydrochloride is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, and can be useful adjunctive therapy for severe inflammatory acne. Minocycline hydrochloride is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any of the tetracyclines. Patients should be advised to continue taking the drug as directed throughout the full course of therapy.

ENOXAPARIN SODIUM INJECTION

Indication: Sandoz is the first manufacturer to receive FDA approval for a generic version of Lovenox, an antithrombotic commonly used for patients undergoing hip replacement, knee replacement, or abdominal surgery. An anticoagulant, Enoxaparin is composed of low molecular weight substances derived from heparins. Enoxaparin sodium injection is indicated for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis, the prevention of ischemic complications of unstable angina and myocardial infarction (MI), and the treatment of acute ST-segment elevation MI. While taking enoxaparin sodium injections, patients should take care to avoid cuts and injuries that may result in bleeding.
How Supplied: The 100-mg/mL concentration is supplied in prefilled syringes (30 mg/0.3 mL and 40 mg/0.4 mL) and graduated prefilled syringes (60 mg/0.6 mL, 80 mg/0.8 mL, and 100 mg/mL). The 150-mg/mL concentration is supplied in graduated prefilled syringes (120 mg/0.8 mL and 150 mg/mL).

Indication: Lannett announced the FDA approval of its Abbreviated New Drug Application for Phentermine Hydrochloride Blue/White Seed Capsules USP, 30 mg. The capsules are indicated as a short-term adjunct to a weight loss regimen based on exercise, caloric restriction, and behavioral modification. Dosage should be individualized to achieve a response with the lowest effective dose. Patients usually develop tolerance to the medication’s anorectic effect within a few weeks, after which the drug should be discontinued.

SPIRONOLACTONE TABLETS

Indication: Amneal Pharmaceuticals received FDA approval to manufacture Spironolactone tablets, an AB-rated generic equivalent alternative to Aldactone. Amneal’s product is available in 25-, 50-, and 100- mg strengths in 100- and 500-count bottles. The 25-mg strength is also available in 1000-count bottles. Spironolactone is an aldosterone antagonist indicated for the management of primary hyperaldosteronism, essential hypertension, hypokalemia, severe heart failure, and edematous conditions for patients with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or nephrotic syndrome.
