Sertraline Hydrochloride

Camber Pharmaceuticals has launched sertraline hydrochloride tablets, the generic version of Zoloft, an antidepressant. Sertraline is used to treat major depressive, obsessive-compulsive, panic, posttraumatic stress, and social anxiety disorders. The tablets are available in 25-, 50-, and 100-mg strengths, in 30-, 90-, and 500-count bottles. Sertraline is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Possible adverse effects include agitation, change in sleep habits, diarrhea, fatigue, increased sweating, indigestion, loss of appetite, and nausea.

Arformoterol Tartrate Inhalation Solution

Teva has launched Arformoterol Tartrate Inhalation Solution, the generic for Brovana Inhalation Solution. The solution comes in 15-mcg/2 mL strength and is a selective ß2-adrenergic agonist. The packages come in 2 sizes: 30 × 2 mL sterile unit-dose ampules, individually pouched, and 60 × 2 mL sterile unit-dose ampules, with 12 × 5 unit-dose ampules per pouch. Arformoterol Tartrate Inhalation Solution is indicated for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and with bronchoconstriction. It is also indicated as a long-term, twice daily administration.

Difluprednate ophthalmic is a corticosteroid that is used to treat eye swelling and pain after eye surgery. It works by stopping the release of certain natural substances that cause pain and swelling. Difluprednate ophthalmic is an emulsion or liquid that is applied to the eye or eyes. It is usually applied to the affected eye or eyes 4 times a day, beginning 24 hours after surgery, and continuing for 2 weeks and then 2 times a day for 1 week thereafter.

Calcitonin Salmon Injection

The FDA has approved an abbreviated new drug application for Par Pharmaceutical’s calcitonin salmon injection, which is a genetic to Miacalcin. The injection comes in multidose vials, each 2 mL. It is indicated for the early treatment of hypercalcemic emergencies, along with other appropriate agents when there is a rapid decrease in serum calcium, according to a statement. It can also be used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis for women more than 5 years post menopause, and it can treat symptomatic Paget disease of bone when alternative treatments are not suitable.
