, Fruth Pharmacy corporate offices received a special visit from Donna DeHart, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen of West Virginia.
DeHart and her team were invited to Fruth Pharmacy for a tour and to be given a check for $5,732.88.
Last month, Fruth Pharmacy hosted a company-wide balloon launch to help raise money for Susan G. Komen of WV. Individual stores also helped raise funds for local cancer organizations or persons needing support.
Customers across the Fruth footprint helped contribute to the funds by purchasing balloons in memory or support of loved ones or by donations.
“One gentleman just handed us a $20 bill, said not to worry about the balloons, he just wanted to donate to a worthy cause,” Amy Nelson, Fruth Category Manager shared about one generous customer.
Mason County currently has the highest death rate in breast cancer related deaths in the state of West Virginia. Susan G. Komen of West Virginia will be using Fruth’s donation towards grants given to various local hospitals and other health organizations.
Individual stores also held events alongside the balloon launch, such as car shows, bake sales, and more. Community leaders helped count-down the launch. Fruth Pharmacy would like to thank all of its customers and the community leaders who offered their support and gave their time to this event. Pictures of the event are available on Fruth Pharmacy’s official Facebook page: facebook.com/FruthPharmacy.
