Police in Escondido, California, are investigating a robbery in which a Rite Aid pharmacist was stabbed in the shoulder on February 21, 2015.
The male suspect entered the pharmacy around 6:30 p.m., police Lt. Ed Varso told U-T San Diego.
The alleged robber was described as possibly aged in his 20s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a red and gray flannel jacket, light-skinned, and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. Police said he arrived at the pharmacy counter in the back of the store and asked for medications, which were not identified.
The robber stabbed the pharmacist in 1 shoulder during the incident, in which the pharmacist handed him an unspecified number of medications.
“There was no real reason,” Varso told U-T San Diego about the stabbing.
The robber escaped out the back door, and the pharmacist was taken to a local hospital when medics arrived at the scene.
