PROGRAM HELPS PART D ENROLLEES GET MEDICATION

The AZ&Me Prescription Savings program is making medicines more affordable for Medicare Part D beneficiaries. The program, created by AstraZeneca, is the first to provide savings right at the pharmacy counter. To qualify for AZ&Me, which has no enrollment fee, an individual must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in Medicare Part D
  • Have an annual income at or below $30,000 (or an annual income at or below $40,000 for a couple)
  • Be taking covered AstraZeneca medications
  • Have spent at least 3% of annual household income on prescription drugs during the calendar year Patients who enroll and meet the eligibility requirements receive an initial 30-day supply of their prescribed medicine.

Patients will have the option of receiving a 60- or 90-day refill with a physician's prescription if they complete the application documentation and submit proof of their year-to-date out-of-pocket prescription drug expenses. The program has a flat patient fee of either $15 or $25 for a typical 30-day script.
