Ultraport Luer-Activated

Needle-Free StopcockB. Braun Medical Inc (Bethlehem, Pa)recently launched the Ultraport Luer-Activated Needle-Free Stopcock, a uniqueintravenous (IV) administration productused to control flow in applications suchas IV therapy, monitoring, and anesthesia.The 1-piece design of the product reducescontamination by eliminating the need forsterile caps and preventing backflow ifports are inadvertently left open. The needle-free valve also provides simple handlecontrol. The Ultraport Luer-ActivatedNeedle-Free Stopcock reduces the risk ofcontamination by incorporating a needle-freevalve into the side port, reducingdead space, and providing leak-free samplingas well as options for injection orcontinuous infusion.
