What Are Upcoming Trends in the Specialty Landscape to Lookout For?

O'Connor: I think a big shift—and something I’m actually presenting about tomorrow [at the 2017 Asembia Specialty Pharmacy Summit]—is the shift of the IDNs and the ACOs into a more vertically integrated HMO type of a model, where they’re taking more risk and they will start getting into the specialty pharmacy space themselves either through building them themselves or engaging other specialty pharmacies in more of a services approach.

Again, all focus on improving that outcome of the patient, but it’s a much more vertically integrated provider side of the equation. I see that absolutely growing in leaps and bounds in the next 1 to 3 years.
