A panel of key stakeholders in the pharmacy field discuss the nature of environmental conditions as a social determinant of health and the potential impact on patient health outcomes, as well as how to best educate patients and colleagues when approaching the subject in the pharmacy.
Environmental conditions can have a significant impact on the health of patients, such as increasing the risk of developing certain health conditions that result from the production of toxins or pollutants in the surrounding environment.
In recognition of the role of environmental conditions as a social determinant of health, Pharmacy Times hosted a webcast discussion on how environmental conditions can impact patient health and what pharmacists can do to educate both patients and colleagues regarding the effects of these conditions.
