Using Social Determinants of Health for Improving Medication Safety, Appropriate Use

Issues like medication access and transportation cost all impact a patient's ability to have access to medications and use them safely and effectively.

Pharmacy Times spoke with Richard Schmitz, PQA Chief Engagement Officer, about how social determinants of health (SDOH) fits with PQA’s work to improve medication safety and appropriate use.

Schmitz: Well SDOH is a priority for PQA because issues like medication access, transportation cost, all impact a patient's ability to have access to medications and use them safely and effectively.
