Scholarships are not just for undergraduate students. Although there are fewer scholarships available for graduate and professional students, taking the extra time to research and apply for scholarships could pay off. Here are the top scholarships, independent of specific pharmacy schools, for pharmacy students.
APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program
The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation recognizes multiple active student members of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists. The scholarships are awarded to students who have completed at least 1 year in the professional program and who demonstrate leadership through their academic and community achievements. To apply, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Express Scripts Scholars Program
Express Scripts is encouraging pharmacy students to pursue multiple interests through the Express Scripts Scholars Program. Each year, the program awards scholarships to 4 students enrolled in dual degree programs to help cover the cost of tuition, books, or fees. Recipients are given $2500 a semester for 4 consecutive semesters, for a total of $10,000.

ASHP Student Leadership Award Program
Students interested in health-systems pharmacy with strong leadership skills should apply for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Student Leadership Award Program. The association presents up to 12 awards each year to pharmacy students in their second through third professional years. Recipients receive a $2000 cash award provided by the ASHP Research and Education Foundation through the Walter Jones Memorial Pharmacy Student Financial Aid Fund, in addition to a plaque and ASHP drug information reference library.

NCPA Foundation Scholarships
The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) Foundation awards several scholarships to its student members each year. The awards recognize students interested in independent pharmacy management, government, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Students can apply for the scholarships beginning February 10, 2015.

Tylenol Future Care Scholarship
The Tylenol Future Care Scholarship Program has been recognizing students pursuing careers in health care for 24 years. The program awards 40 undergraduate and graduate students studying an area of health care with scholarships of $5000 or $10,000. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 1 year of course work and have at least 1 year of education remaining.
