Thousands to Converge on Las Vegas for Annual Asembia Specialty Pharmacy Summit

Overview

Asembia’s 2017 Specialty Pharmacy Summit will return to the Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas from April 30 through May 3.

This annual event is the largest US health care conference for specialty pharmacy. This year, the summit will welcome over 5000 attendees representing more than 1000 organizations, including pharmacy providers, integrated delivery networks, health systems, pharma/biotech manufacturers, payers, drug wholesalers, and many other specialty pharmacy stakeholder organizations.

During the 4-day meeting, attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of all aspects of specialty pharmacy from renowned industry speakers who will share insights about the most current information on the many facets of the $150 billion specialty pharmacy channel. In total, the 2017 summit will feature nearly 100 hours of expert seminars, continuing education sessions, business workshops, networking and social events, along with a full exhibit hall that includes more than 150 organizations with exhibits.

Exhibitors

Organizations operating within the specialty pharmacy segment have the opportunity to showcase their products and services through an interactive exhibit hall experience at Asembia’s Specialty Pharmacy Summit. Exhibitors will be able to meet and connect with highly engaged attendees from throughout the specialty pharmacy industry. The exhibitors include a broad range of participants, such as pharma/biotech manufacturers, pharmacy providers, payers, drug wholesalers, and many others. Results from previous conference surveys show that nearly 98% of all attendees visit the exhibit hall during the summit.

Agenda

The agenda includes 4 full days of interactive expert panel discussions on the latest industry topics, relevant business and educational sessions, vendor exhibits, and a host of networking events.

General Session

Emmy Award-winner Leeza Gibbons will emcee and moderate this year’s General Session, which features Arnold Schwarzenegger as the 2017 keynote speaker. General Session industry speakers will also include Liz Barrett, global president and general manager for Pfizer Oncology; Gerry Gleeson, group vice president for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy; and Lawrence Irene, co-founder and chief executive officer of Asembia.

Featured Session

Adam Fein, Doug Long, and Eric Percher will present the featured session, titled “Specialty Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy: Today Tomorrow and Beyond.” Hear from these 3 industry experts as they share their analysis and outlook on the dynamic specialty pharmacy industry. They will explain the key trends reshaping specialty drug channels and analyze strategic responses from payers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and pharmacies.

The session will highlight the latest data on market dynamics, while also examining how the financial markets view specialty pharmacy.

Expert Seminars, Business and Educational Sessions

This year’s sessions and seminars will offer insights and updates regarding key trends in specialty pharmacy. Topics will include: changes in care and patient management for specific specialty disease states; navigating the regulatory landscape; distribution pipeline and drug delivery updates; the evolving pharmacist-physician relationship; examining specialty-focused pharmacy education, challenges, and opportunities for patient access and adherence; and preparing for specialty drug pricing concerns.
