Health Mart University started as a platform to be franchise standards.
Nancy Lyons, VP, Chief Pharmacy Officer, Healthmart, McKesson, spoke to Pharmacy Times about pharmacy technicians and Health Mart University.
Lyons: Health Mart University really started as our platform to be franchise standards. We've always had a number of compliance courses that are required annually. But about 4 or 5 years ago, we realize the power of our partner seeking impact to not only provide those essentials to keep the business open, but to really allow the pharmacies to take on more of a role of pharmacists and technicians maintaining licenses and credentials. So accredited continuing education programs that a provider really works with us to customize for the independent community pharmacy practice, and make it relevant and timely and get them the credits that they need.
