WASHINGTON DC, (January 16, 2014) — Today, the U.S. Senate joined the House of Representatives in voting to restore $85 million in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sequestered user fees, reflecting bipartisan recognition of the critical need to ensure the agency has the resources required to carry out its mission, including the review and approval of affordable generic medicines and biosimilars.
GPhA would especially like to congratulate Senate Agriculture and FDA Appropriations Subcommittee Chair Mark Pryor and Ranking Member Roy Blunt for their unwavering commitment to restoring industry-supported FDA user fees and ensuring that millions of Americans have timely access to more affordable generic medicines.
