PRESS RELEASE WASHINGTON, DC — This week, the American Pharmacists Association’s (APhA) Pharmacy Today launched a new daily newsletter to meet the increasing need for news, facts and information supplied when it happens. Delivered each business morning, the daily edition of Today provides custom-crafted summaries of the day’s top news stories written by Today’s newsletter partner, Information Inc., and Pharmacy Today reporters.
“When Today was launched 20 years ago, it was reasonable to keep pharmacists updated through a print publication that required two or three weeks to be printed and delivered,” stated Michael Posey, Editor, Pharmacy Today and Associate Vice President, Periodicals, APhA. “Today, of course, technology has changed our society—and ergo, our profession—by placing in everyone’s hands the means for mass communication delivered instantly. There is no news cycle, just a constant flow of information that must be parsed, evaluated, interpreted, and assimilated.”

The information covered in the Daily Edition is organized into categories including Drugs & Diseases; Practice & Trends; Laws, Regs & Rulings; and News You Can Use. The newsletter is delivered every business morning to all APhA members and provided on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to the whole of pharmacy. If you’re not receiving this edition every day, access pharmacist.com now to become an APhA member—one who gives back to pharmacy and keeps the profession strong while receiving the benefits of all APhA services. If you’re not receiving this edition at all, sign up at pharmacist.com/pharmacytoday.
