Pharmacy Technicians Initially Hesitant About Administering Vaccines

In a Pharmacy Times® interview, Ashley Woodyard, a PharmD candidate at the Touro University California College of Pharmacy in Vallejo and co-author of an article in the January 2022 issue of Pharmacy Times®, discussed the article and the benefits of pharmacy technicians as vaccine administrators.

She addressed how this has addition impacted pharmacy technicians and their workflow, why pharmacists and pharmacy technicians initally expressed hesitancy over technicians administering vaccines, and how the possibility of pharmacies expanding to add more clinical services could affect pharmacy technicians.
