Shivam Patel, PharmD, discusses one way pharmacist roles are changing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shivam Patel, PharmD: Hello, everyone. So as you know, COVID-19 has greatly impacted the country. Various changes are being made throughout the different sectors, including health care. My role, I worked as a clinical pharmacist with a primary care team at a veterans affairs medical center, and some of the changes we've made includes the approach we take to seeing patients on a daily basis. We've been able to utilize telehealth, using video teleconferencing technology to see patients through video and improving the safety of both the provider and the patient. I think that's great, and it's been very beneficial.
