Next-Generation Pharmacist Awards Nominations Open

Nominations for the fifth annual Next-Generation Pharmacist^TM awards, co-founded by Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems, are now being accepted.

Do you know a hardworking, inspiring pharmacist, tech, or pharmacy student who exemplifies what the pharmacy profession can and should be? Help them get the recognition they deserve by nominating them for a Next-Generation Pharmacist^TM award!

Nomination forms are available at www.nextgenerationpharmacist.com. The deadline for entries is April 14, 2014, and nominations can be submitted directly from the website or printed out and sent in via mail.

This national awards program honors pharmacists, technicians, students, and industry advocates who are defining the future of pharmacy. It is open to licensed pharmacists practicing in all environments, including chain, independent, institutional, and government settings, as well as technicians and student pharmacists. Since 2010, more than 100 pharmacy leaders have been named finalists or winners.

The awards, presented by Pharmacy Times in partnership with Parata Systems, will be given out in the following categories:

2. Entrepreneur 2014

3. Future Pharmacist 2014

4. Lifetime Achievement 2014

5. Military Pharmacist 2014

6. Patient Care Provider 2014

7. Rising Star 2014

8. Specialty Pharmacist 2014

9. Technician 2014

10. Technology Innovator 2014

Nominations will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges chaired by Pharmacy Times Editor-in-Chief Fred Eckel. Up to 3 finalists will be named in each of the 10 award categories. Finalists will be featured in the July 2014 issue of Pharmacy Times and on www.pharmacytimes.com. One of the winners in the pharmacist categories will be chosen to receive the program’s highest honor—the 2014 Next-Generation Pharmacist™ award—which recognizes a pharmacist with an exceptional vision for the pharmacy profession or industry as a whole.

The Next-Generation Pharmacist^TM awards will be presented at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday, August 24, 2014, concurrent with the National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ Total Store Expo. In addition to the traditional awards program, the 2014 Next-Generation Pharmacist program will host a panel of experts dedicated to sharing their vision about the future of pharmacy, including the growing role of pharmacists in the value-driven health care system. More details will be announced at a later date.
