Next-Generation Pharmacist™ Program Will RecognizeTop Pharmacists

New program from Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems will honor leaders and innovators in pharmacy.

PLAINSBORO, NJ (April 13, 2010)—Pharmacists play an increasingly important role in the delivery of health to millions of patients. The most innovative members of the profession will now be honored by a new awards program from Pharmacy Times and Parata Systems—The Next-Generation Pharmacist™ Program. Nominations for this prestigious awards program are now open at www.nextgenerationpharmacist.org.

Awards will be presented to winning nominees in 10 categories:

  • Rising Star
  • Entrepreneur
  • Green Pharmacist
  • Civic Leader
  • Technology Innovator
  • Patient Advocate
  • Industry Advocate
  • Technician
  • Future Pharmacist (Student Pharmacist)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

From among the 10 category winners, Pharmacy Times and Parata will select the inaugural “Next-Generation Pharmacist,” the highest award, will be chosen from 1 of the 10 category winners. Finalists will be profiled in Pharmacy Times and honored at an awards dinner on October 25, 2010, in Philadelphia, PA, during the National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention and Trade Exhibition.

Pharmacy Times is published monthly by Intellisphere, LLC, a division of MJH & Associates. “These awards offer a first-of-a-kind opportunity for pharmacists to gain much-deserved recognition for outstanding contributions, while boosting the visibility of their pharmacies in the industry and in the communities they serve,” said Mike Hennessy, Chairman and CEO of MJH & Associates.

The second component to the program, the Next-Generation Pharmacist Profile, will highlight the current state and future vision of the field of pharmacy. The Next-Generation Pharmacist Profile’s findings will be published in a special supplement to Pharmacy Times.
