The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) announced it will host its 2013 Fall Strategic Business Exchange meeting on October 14-16, 2013 in San Antonio.
The Strategic Business Exchange (SBE) meeting addresses the needs of NASP members and partners by offering valuable, one-on-one time with attendees representing different channels, including: specialty pharmacies, payers, manufacturers, pharmacy benefit managers, group purchasing organizations, technology providers, patient advocacy groups, and other industry stakeholders.
"This is a unique setting and opportunity for participants to engage in strategic conversations and meet with other professionals to expand their network and gain insight into the specialty pharmacy industry,” Gary M. Cohen, BSPharm, RPh, NASP chief executive officer, said.
NASP polled more than 550 attendees at the Inaugural Specialty Pharmacy Conference in April to gather feedback on relevant issues for future meetings. As a result, NASP is booking three nationally recognized experts in the healthcare industry to give key note presentations focused on the Affordable Care Act and its impact on specialty pharmacy in the next five years, the future of health information technology and the impact of bioethics on specialty pharmacy.
“These knowledgeable presenters will discuss the most relevant issues facing our industry today,” James E. Smeeding, RPh, MBA, NASP executive director, said. “The business exchange meeting style allows participants to drill down further into each issue and discuss possible solutions and the exchange of ideas.”
Registration for the NASP Strategic Business Exchange will be available online at www.nasprx.org or call Nicole Watkins 813 926-5000, nwatkins@nasprx.org.
NASP, founded in 2012, represents specialty pharmacy professionals in all practice settings and highlights the unique value its members bring to patients and the healthcare system. Specialty pharmacy is the fastest growing segment in the industry today and NASP provides valuable benefits to members by creating a strong, unified voice for all stakeholders.
