The National Association of Chain Drug Stores elected new officers, 4 new Executive Committee members, and 5 new Board of Directors members for the coming year.

Palm Beach, Fla.
— During its Annual Meeting this weekend, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) elected new officers, four new Executive Committee members and five new Board of Directors members for the coming year.
Randy Edeker, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Hy-Vee Inc. will serve as the new NACDS chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding John Standley, chairman and chief executive officer of Rite Aid Corporation.
In addition, Martin Otto, chief merchant and chief financial officer of H-E-B, was elected vice chairman, and J.K. Symancyk, president of Meijer, Inc., was elected treasurer. Each officer will serve a one-year term.

Anderson, IOM, CAE. “During his service on the Executive Committee, Randy’s leadership helped drive NACDS’ activities on key industry issues and policies. His extraordinary leadership at Hy-Vee has driven continued success and further illustrates his commitment to the industry. We look forward to working with him in his new role with NACDS in the coming year.”
The NACDS Board also elected the following new Executive Committee members: Labeed Diab, president of health and wellness with Walmart; Alex Gourlay, president of Walgreen Co.; Martin Otto,
chief merchant and chief financial officer of H-E-B;
and J.K. Symancyk,
president of Meijer, Inc
.
Five new Board of Directors members were also elected to serve three-year terms: Richard Ashworth, president, pharmacy and retail operations with Walgreen Co.; Helena Foulkes, president, CVS/pharmacy and executive vice president, CVS Caremark, with CVS Health; Jon Giacomin, chief executive officer, pharmaceutical segment with Medicine Shoppe International Inc.; Alex Gourlay,
president of Walgreen Co.; and David Neu, president, Good Neighbor Pharmacy.
These five new Board members will join the 19 members of the NACDS Board of Directors to develop NACDS’ policies and priorities.
