Managed Health Care Associates, Inc (MHA), a leading health care service company focused on the alternate site health care provider marketplace, announced the completion of its sixth annual Independent Long Term Care Member Study, the results of which were released at the 2013 MHA Business Summit, February 28, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This study was first introduced in 2008 to provide MHA members and other industry stakeholders with additional insight into the operations of independent long term care pharmacies nationwide. The 2013 report findings include data from over 1,000 nationwide participants, 140M prescriptions and 2.7 M patient profiles across a multitude of residential settings.

Michelle Templin, MHA vice president, strategic business development, commented, "In this year's edition, we not only continued to report on the growing utilization of specialty pharmaceuticals within LTC pharmacy but we also analyzed the impact of limited distribution on this population. Additionally, we expanded the study reporting to include financial metrics highlighting average revenue per prescription, generic utilization rates and average revenue per resident. We remain committed to this market and to presenting a useful annual report for members."

Lou Livolsi, MHA senior vice president, LTC added, "The Independent Long Term Care Member Study is one of the many MHA proprietary offerings we bring to our LTC membership. Our members trust that we have their interest in mind in what we do and The LTC Study is a clear example of how we continue to deliver value to member pharmacies."

MHA members who attended the Business Summit were given a complimentary copy of the Independent Long Term Care Member Study. Members not in attendance were given a copy of the study directly through their Account Management team.
