The ClarusONE Service Collaborative Supplier of the Year Award recognizes Camber Pharmaceuticals’ collaboration on future launches in new markets, generic industry expertise, and overall market intelligence. Camber Pharmaceuticals has increased sales by 50% over the past year with ClarusONE members.
McKesson collaborates with government agencies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmacies, providers, and other health care-related organizations to provide health services, medical products, and medications to patients. Camber Pharmaceuticals is one of those partners.
“Our 185-year legacy in distribution and our customer-first approach are possible only with the right partners,” Chris Rector, vice president of sourcing and supplier relations, generics sourcing, for Walmart/McKesson JV, said in a statement. “It’s an honor to work alongside Camber Pharmaceuticals to better patient care and deliver value for our customers.”
Camber Pharmaceuticals has been one of the fastest-growing generic drug companies in the country over the past 2 years. It credits its growth and success to its vertically integrated supply chain, from active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to finished dosage.
The company’s global resources include facilities in India, the Middle East, South America, Spain, and the United States; a presence in more than 120 countries; 6 FDA-approved API facilities; and total control of the supply chain. Camber Pharmaceuticals aims to file up to 20 abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) each year and broaden its product line. The company’s products include injectables and inhalers, liquid solutions and suspensions, semisolid and soft-gel medications, solid oral medications, and specialty products.
Camber Pharmaceuticals recently launched generic versions of Adcirca, Cialis, Detrol LA, and Lovaza, among others.
The company is part of Hetero Drugs, based in Hyderabad, India. With more than 18 manufacturing facilities around the world, Hetero Drugs manufactures more than 40 billion oral doses of medications annually and is one of the world’s leading API and finished-dosage manufacturers. The group’s portfolio includes drug master files for more than 300 APIs, and the manufacturer has filed over 150 ANDAs. Hetero Drugs has also received approval to market a wide range of drugs globally and offers products in specialized therapeutic areas, such as oncology and antiretroviral therapy.
ClarusONE Sourcing Services, LLP, provides strategic sourcing services to its members through a sourcing model that fosters global generic pharmaceutical partnerships. Its services allow McKesson and Walmart Inc. to jointly source generic pharmaceuticals, adding scale and value for companies, customers, manufacturing partners, and patients—part of a partnership stretching back more than 25 years. Its global supply base also strives to ensure that both McKesson and Walmart have access to appropriate generic pharmaceutical products to meet customer demand at competitive prices.
“We are very honored to receive the Collaborative Supplier of the Year Award from such an outstanding partner as McKesson, whose ongoing support is instrumental to our mutual success,” Kon Ostaficiuk, president of Camber Pharmaceuticals, said in a statement. “Our entire organization shares in this achievement, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”
