Live remote proctoring offers a safe, secure, socially distanced testing experience.
The National Healthcareer Association (NHA) is pleased to announce that Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) is now available as a testing option for all eight of our nationally accredited certification exams, including the ExCPT (CPhT) certification exam for pharmacy technicians.
The National Commission for Certifying Agencies, (NCCA) defines LRP as:
“Remote proctoring that occurs with a person actively watching and monitoring a candidate during the time of the test administration and that provides safeguards for exam integrity and validity similar to in-person proctoring.”
In response to the restrictions put in place to address the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the NCCA created a pathway to allow accredited certification exams to be delivered via live remote proctoring while testing centers, schools and other locations are closed due to social distancing and other limitations during the crisis.
Live remote proctoring offers a safe, secure, socially distanced testing experience available through NHA’s partnership with PSI, a third-party testing center. Exam candidates have been able to schedule LRP exams from their NHA accounts since May 19, 2020.
With increasing demands on the US health care system, the need for certified frontline workers continues to grow in professions such as pharmacy technicians, medical assistants, phlebotomists, patient care technicians and EKG technicians. The ability to provide certification exams through LRP allows these valued health workers to complete their training programs knowing that the opportunity to obtain certification is in place.
