Plainsboro, NJ— May 6, 2015— Pharmacy Times is the most-read publication among pharmacists and pharmacy professionals, according to the recently released 2015 Kantar Media Pharmacy Readership study. Pharmacy Times was the top choice among pharmacists working in chain and independent retail pharmacies and health-system pharmacies, as well as pharmacy professionals in key positions at pharmacy benefits management companies and managed care organizations. Pharmacy Times was also the top choice among readers in key groups, including pharmacists who spend a significant amount of time each day counseling patients and pharmacists who work in high-volume practices. Moreover, readers of Pharmacy Times who are members of the industry’s top three pharmacy associations—American Pharmacists Association, National Community Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Health- System Pharmacists—ranked Pharmacy Times #1 in readership.
The annual Kantar Media study measures the readership habits of thousands of pharmacists and pharmacy professionals. Respondents include pharmacists working in chain and independent retail pharmacies and health-system pharmacies, as well as pharmacy professionals in key positions at pharmacy benefits management companies and managed care organizations. The results, based on surveys completed during the first quarter of 2015, show Pharmacy Times outranked all competitors in Average Issue Readership and Average Page Exposures among the total sample studied. Leader in Key Subgroups
Pharmacy Times, which circulates to more than 165,000 retail pharmacists, specifically ranked first in Average Issue Readership among retail and independent pharmacists who fill 200 or more prescriptions per day. (2-4) Additionally, Pharmacy Times ranked first in Average Issue Readership and Average Page Exposures among pharmacists who have been in practice for less than 10 years, as well as those who have been in practice for more than 10 years. Pharmacy Times was also recognized in a new subgroup category this year. Respondents were asked to indicate membership in pharmacy associations, which included the American Pharmacists Association, National Community Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. These respondents all ranked Pharmacy Times highest in Average Issue Readership. (7-9)
For the survey, participants were asked how often they read a particular publication, how they read each issue (such as “cover to cover” or “articles of interest only”), and how much of the issue they read. The survey included a total of 17 publications.
