PRESS RELEASE
New Brunswick, NJ — June 25, 2015 – Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. announced its sponsorship of Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices® program to encourage and reward healthy behavior. Centered on the shared belief that the health and well-being of families everywhere is critically important, both companies are making it easier for customers to make healthier choices. This new relationship was announced at this week’s Consumer Goods Forum in New York City.
The integration of the Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout® app within the Walgreens Balance Rewards for healthy choices® (BRhc) program allows program members to earn points by completing a workout using the Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout® app. Balance Rewards for healthy choices® members can also earn Balance® Rewards points by purchasing participating products within the HEALTHY ESSENTIALS® program, which include iconic brands across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies’ portfolio such as JOHNSON’S®, NEUTROGENA® and LISTERINE® at Walgreens and Walgreens.com.
“Human behaviors drive the vast majority of healthcare costs. Approximately 80 percent of adult Americans don’t get the recommended amount of exercise, and lack of time and energy are among the top reasons cited for not exercising,” said Len Greer, President of Johnson & Johnson Health and Wellness Solutions, Inc. “The Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout® app was designed to address these barriers. Both Walgreens and Johnson & Johnson are committed to helping consumers live healthier and more vibrant lives by providing simple, effective and engaging solutions that are personalized to meet each individual’s unique needs.”
“Through our Balance Rewards for healthy choices® program, Walgreens encourages members to adopt simple steps that can positively affect a person’s health, and collaborating with Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. within our digital ecosystem can further enhance awareness and participation,” said Adam Pellegrini, divisional vice president of Digital Health, Walgreens.
