Pharmacy Times spoke with Adam Martin, the Fit Pharmacist, about burnout prevention and stress management.

Pharmacy Times spoke with Adam Martin, the Fit Pharmacist, about burnout prevention and stress management.

Martin emphasized how burnout has become a pandemic itself during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic stemming from a lack of self-care from the pharmacists themselves. With the amount of uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, pharmacists may find it challenging to manage their everyday tasks and routine, according to Martin.

Martin's number one piece of advice for pharmacists is that self-care is not selfish and to make self-care a mainstay.

Martin also discussed counseling patients on managing stress and burnout.
