National Association of Boards of Pharmacy Honors Pharmacy Leader

The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) recently honored Kristi Dover, PharmD, with the Henry Cade Memorial Award for her work at Purdue Pharma, where she serves as the senior director of medical liaisons.

“I am both humbled and inspired by the Henry Cade Memorial Award,” said Dr. Dover.

A former clinical pharmacist, Dr. Dover works with pain societies, professional associations of physicians, nurses, and pharmacists; academic institutions; health care licensing boards; and major medical centers. These relationships serve as the foundation for collaborative projects to address pain care or risk management issues.

For example, working with NABP, Dr. Dover facilitated Purdue Pharma’s sponsorship of the NABP Survey of Pharmacy Law, enabling the organization to offer the publication free to all last-year pharmacy students. Dr. Dover has also facilitated sponsorships for several NABP events in the past.

“Kristi continually demonstrates leadership in the field by advancing Purdue’s pain care and risk minimization efforts,” said Lisa Miller, PharmD, executive director of health care education & liaison programs at Purdue. “This recognition is extremely well deserved and reflects just how effectively she conducts business while keeping patient care and safety in the forefront.”

Before joining Purdue in 2000, Dr. Dover was a clinical pharmacist practicing in a multidisciplinary pain clinic at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where she also served on the pain task force. Prior to that, she was an Oncology Clinical Specialist at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Dover completed her undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, after which she completed an accredited residency in Hematology and Oncology.

Dr. Dover resides in Colleyville, Texas with her family. For more information about the award, visit http://www.nabp.net/search/?search=Henry+Cade+Memorial+Award.
