Health App Wrap

Track3 Diabetes Planner and Carb Counter

Track3 Diabetes Planner and Carb Counter from Coheso, Inc, allows patients to track vital diabetes management factors—like nutrition, exercise, blood sugar, and oral medications—on their iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The app includes an insulin calculator, a body weight tracker, and a recently used values section for faster logging of insulin and medication. Patients can also use the app’s food database—which includes carbohydrate and calorie details for 80,000 foods, 500 food brands, and 300 popular fast food and casual dinning restaurants—to record what and when they ate. The app displays carbohydrate values next to calorie count, so patients can easily see the number of carbs in a given meal. In addition, patients can customize nutrition, exercise, and medication data if the prerecorded information does not suit their routines. The app can calculate calorie per minute exercise values that are specific to a patient’s weight, type of exercise, or time spent exercising. Patients can also enter calorie values displayed on workout machines, or individual workout class data. The app does not require an Internet connection, so patients can log in and record data anywhere. Patient entries create a food, medication and exercise diary that can be shared during counseling sessions. In addition, the information entered into Track3 can be emailed and opened by any spreadsheet program, and is updated every time a patient logs a workout, blood sugar value, or a meal.
