It may be used in patients (1) whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on monotherapy or (2) who require multiple drugs to control blood pressure. The dose should be taken once a day without regard to food.

Indication: Mylan has announced the launch of norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol tablets (chewable) and ferrous fumarate tablets (chewable), both indicated for preventing pregnancy in women who decide to use oral contraceptives. The tablets must be taken exactly as directed. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious cardiovascular adverse effects from oral contraceptive use, and this risk increases with age.

Indication: Aurobindo Pharma has announced the launch of sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitor indicated for the treatment of patients 18 years and older with pulmonary arterial hypertension who are temporarily unable to take oral therapy, but are otherwise clinically and hemodynamically stable. The recommended dose is 2.5 mg or 10 mg administered as an intravenous bolus injection 3 times a day. Patients should be advised that sildenafil is the same active ingredient that is in Viagra, so these drugs should never be taken together.

Indication: Actavis has announced the launch of clobetasol cream 0.05%, a high-potency topical corticosteroid indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses. A thin layer of clobetasol cream should be applied to affected skin twice daily by rubbing it in gently and completely. The total dosage should not exceed 50 g per week because of the potential for the drug to suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. The use of this product in patients younger than 12 years is not recommended.
