Johanna M. Thompson, PhamD, BCPS, BCGP: I think that one of the things that is driving pharmacists into primary care is the demand on primary care providers. There are so many different disease state management and population management goals that physicians, providers in primary care have to meet and there’s not enough of them. Because of that, they really need help and it takes a team to take care of patients these days.
