CVD May Increase Risk of Cognitive Decline in Older Women

The results of a recent study identified a relationship between cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline in postmenopausal women.

A relationship between cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cognitive decline in postmenopausal women was identified in a recent study published online in the Journal of the American Heart Association. In women without CVD, hypertension and diabetes increased the risk for cognitive decline. No significant relationship was found between atrial fibrillation and heart failure with cognitive functioning.
