Avella Achieves Accreditation Through ACHC

PRESS RELEASE

Avella is proud to announce that it has achieved accreditation as a specialty pharmacy through Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

Accreditation is a process where healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards in areas that directly or indirectly impact patient care. Accreditation by ACHC reflects Avella’s dedication to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and quality across all of its clinical and operational processes.

ACHC is a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1986 by homecare and alternate-site industry providers and which has since grown to offer accreditation in seven key areas, including a program specific to specialty pharmacies. ACHC’s accreditation process is designed to be collaborative, educational and patient-focused.

“Avella has always maintained a commitment to outstanding patient care and operational excellence,” said Eric Sredzinski, Pharm.D., EVP, Clinical Affairs & Quality Assurance. “Through our accreditation with ACHC, we have one more way to demonstrate this commitment to our customers and showcase our unwavering devotion to maintaining high-quality programs and services.”

In fact, this long-standing focus on quality is evident through Avella’s accreditation with a variety of nationally-known programs including those offered through Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) and the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), among others. Avella has also recently become registered as an outsourcing facility with the FDA through a program that helps physician practices identify specialty pharmacies that consent to greater federal oversight and adhere to specific “current good manufacturing practices.”
