The Association of Northwest Pharmacies (ANP) has become the latest independent pharmacy organization to join the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), the groups announced today.
“We applaud ANP’s commitment to the vision of sustaining and growing independent pharmacies and their ability to serve their patients and communities,” said Robert J. Greenwood, RPh, NCPA President and Iowa pharmacy owner. “We are excited to now have all ANP members joining NCPA to strengthen the voice of independent pharmacists in the Pacific Northwest and nationwide.”
“The board of the Association of Northwest Pharmacies chose to have all our stores become members of NCPA. This action was prompted by the legislative and educational efforts of NCPA.” Joel Hadfield, RPh, Association of Northwest Pharmacies CEO.
NCPA is an advocate in Washington, DC and around the country for independent community pharmacies and their patients. In addition to benefitting from and supporting NCPA’s advocacy efforts, Association of Northwest Pharmacies members will now have access to additional perquisites of NCPA membership, including financial benchmarking, via the NCPA Digest, sponsored by Cardinal Health; exclusive peer-to-peer Members Forum discussions of hot topics; updates on health care reform implementation; programs like Dispose My Meds prescription drug disposal; and discounts on the top pharmacy meetings in the industry.
ANP is a regionalized not-for-profit cooperative designed by pharmacists to provide a highly diversified healthcare goods and services portfolio for the benefit of Independent Retail, LTC, Home Infusion, and Specialty Pharmacies, and their patients.
The National Community Pharmacists Association represents the interests of more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies, pharmacy franchises, and chains. For more information about the organization, click here.
