Armada Health Care (Armada), the nation's largest specialty pharmacy group contracting and service organization, recently announced that Dr. Richard Migliori, executive vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer of UnitedHealth Group, will deliver the State of the Industry speech at the general session of the 2015 Armada Specialty Pharmacy Summit.
The Armada conference will take place May 4-8, 2015, at Wynn Las Vegas and is expected to draw more than 3,000 prominent specialty pharmacy experts, executives and health care industry stakeholders.

In 2013, Dr. Migliori was appointed executive vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer of UnitedHealth Group, working with businesses across the enterprise to help improve health care quality, access and affordability. He is also part of the UnitedHealth Group enterprise wide Innovation Council and is committed to deepening the value UnitedHealth Group brings to market through innovation, establishing critical strategic priorities, and driving cultural change and practical support for experimentation.
Previously, Dr. Migliori served as executive vice president of Health Services, responsible for the ongoing development, design and adaptation of market-leading clinical innovations aimed at ensuring clinical excellence, improving clinical and economic outcomes, and delivering robust business performance on behalf of UnitedHealth Group's largest public- and private-sector clients.
Dr. Migliori has spearheaded the design, organization and management of national health care delivery networks. He was appointed as a member of Governor Dayton's Governor's Committee at the University of Minnesota Medical School. He has previously served on the Harvard University/Kennedy School of Government Health Care Delivery Policy Committee, and is a member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the Advisory Committee on Transplantation advising the Secretary of Health and Human Services on public policy for human organ transplantation. He has published nearly 50 articles on topics ranging from continuous quality improvement methods in a clinical setting to surgical oncology and solid-organ transplant.
Dr. Migliori holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Brown University and completed a National Health Research Fellowship in immunology, transplantation and oncology funded by the National Institutes of Health. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
