Amber Pharmacy Announces Strategic Leadership Changes

Announcement positions specialty pharmacy group for continued growth.

OMAHA, Nebraska (April 25, 2019) — Today, Amber Pharmacy, a subsidiary of Hy-Vee, Inc. announced that Aaron Wiese has been named president of Amber Pharmacy and Hy-Vee Pharmacy Solutions. Mike Agostino, president of Amber Pharmacy since 2017, has been named senior vice president of pharmacy business development at Hy-Vee’s corporate office.

“As the health care landscape continues to evolve, we need someone who can help us focus on expanding our services to our patients,” said Randy Edeker, chairman, CEO and president, Hy-Vee. “Mike is the perfect person to work on new strategies and develop both specialty and traditional pharmacy opportunities so we can provide expanded patient services.”

Agostino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from Northeastern University, and is the past president of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy. He currently serves on the board of the association, and is a member of the Executive Committee, Membership Committee and Government Affairs Committee. Agostino has been with Amber Pharmacy since 2008.

With Agostino’s move, Aaron Wiese has been named president of Amber Pharmacy and Hy-Vee Pharmacy Solutions. Wiese has been an integral part of leading Hy-Vee’s health and wellness efforts since 2013, and brings a great deal of experience to his role as president.

“Aaron has amassed a great amount of knowledge in all aspects of health, wellness and pharmacy,” Edeker said. “The specialty pharmacy business is very challenging, but is a key part of our overall health strategy and making sure we’re taking the best care possible of our patients. Aaron is the right leader for these areas as we position ourselves for future growth.”

Wiese has been with Hy-Vee since 1993. He has served in multiple areas of Hy-Vee’s health and wellness operations, most recently as vice president, Hy-Vee HealthMarkets/health & wellness strategy. He also has served in several leadership positions at Amber Pharmacy prior to that.
