A Fast, Easy Way to Inform Parents About Vaccinations

A recently-released video from the CDC provides a great way to discuss vaccines with parents.

It's August, and that means your pharmacy will likely soon be filled with parents stocking up on bookbags, pencils, and in addition to school supplies, these parents may pop by your pharmacy counter with questions about vaccines.

Fortunately, officials with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have prepared an informational video on this topic, that provides an easy way to give parents an overview of the vaccines that their child will likely get in their physician's office, or in your clinic.

The video notes that "vaccines can help protect young children from 14 serious diseases," and that children may need several doses to ensure they are protected. The video also discusses vaccinations that are recommended as children grow into young adulthood, including pertussis and the human papillomavirus vaccines.
