3 Ways to Get the Most Out of the Asembia Specialty Pharmacy Summit

The largest conference in the specialty pharmacy industry will return to Wynn/Encore Las Vegas on April 30, 2017.

With Asembia’s 2017 Specialty Pharmacy Summit kicking off this weekend, industry leaders are gearing up to attend the largest national conference in the specialty pharmacy landscape.

The annual event draws thousands of experts, including pharmaceutical senior executives and key decision makers, pharma/biotech manufacturers, payers, wholesalers/distributors, health systems, consultants, telehealth companies, and other industry stakeholders. Last year, nearly 5000 individuals were in attendance, which is expected to grow to approximately 6000 attendees this year.

For those who will be in attendance, here is how you can get the greatest benefit from your time at the Asembia conference.

1. Earn Continuing Education Credits

The 4-day conference offers a plethora of opportunities for attendees, including talks from expert speakers, visiting the exhibit hall, and attending social events, such as the welcome reception, specialty pharmacy social, and the Asembia party. The conference provides individuals with the opportunity to network, collaborate, and gain more knowledge in the specialty pharmacy landscape. In addition to attending the informative sessions, attendees should take advantage of several sessions offering continuing education (CE) credits. These sessions do not require sign-up or pre-registration, and all lectures, seminars, business and CE sessions are open seating. As a reminder, CE credits must be claimed immediately following completion of the conference.

2. Download the 2017 Specialty Pharmacy Summit Mobile App

Asembia has officially released this year’s mobile app, which provides attendees with key features to make the most of their time at the conference. The app includes access to the full attendee list; the ability to opt in or out of instant messaging with other attendees; review of session material, speaker bios, and exhibitor and sponsor information; ability to create a personal hourly and daily schedule; receive push notifications of conference updates; and see who is posting and tweeting about the summit. Only registered attendees have access to the mobile app, and it requires a registration confirmation number. Participants will receive an email regarding the app that includes the event password.

3. Follow the Zitter Health Insight’s Specialty Pharmacy Patient Satisfaction Survey Awards

Through a collaborative effort, Specialty Pharmacy Times and Zitter Health worked together to create a survey that would address the unmet needs for an independent and objective benchmarking study comparing patient satisfaction across specialty pharmacies in the United States. The awards are a chance to honor specialty pharmacies and their commitment to patients. This year’s winners will be recognized at the Patient Choice Awards luncheon on May 2, 2017, and will be featured in the June 2017 Specialty Pharmacy Times issue. The finalists are CVS Health, Humana Specialty Pharmacy, US Specialty Care, Amber Enterprises, BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy, Credena Health, PANTHERx Specialty Pharmacy, and Senderra Rx Specialty Pharmacy.
