Greatest Achievements

My greatest achievements are being recognized as the NCPA Pharmacist of the Year in 2015 and serving as the GPHA President

Source of Inspiration

My father was a great inspiration as he always had time for teaching me throughout my life. I have also always looked up to my high school football coach Don Enis who told me to leave this place better than I found it.

Personal Philosophy

Put a smile on your face, as your smile may change someone else’s life. Don’t define yourself by what you do, but by who you are.

Vision for Pharmacy

As you look out in your store and see your patients, go beyond the norm and set new standards for your patients that they have never seen.

Ralphs Pharmacy

Los Angeles, CA

Janine Mansour is a pharmacy clinical specialist for Ralphs Pharmacy. “Janine has been passionate in providing patient care, and really has an affinity for providing clinical services in the community setting,” her nominator wrote. “Janine’s imitative is inspiring, as she strives to better herself, not because her supervisors ask it of her, but because she asks it of herself.”

Greatest Achievements

I was one of the very first pharmacists in the United States to participate in the ADAPT program offered by the Canadian Pharmacists Association.

Source of Inspiration

My mother, who is also a pharmacist, has always been my inspiration. I have seen her help so many people and continue to do so.

Personal Philosophy

I personally wanted to become a pharmacist to help patients lead a healthier life, plain and simple. I felt that I could help people become healthier and educate patients on their medications and medical conditions.

Vision for Pharmacy

I really see pharmacy very quickly moving toward being very clinically focused. This is really a big leap from where pharmacy used to be, even in my short 4 years as a pharmacist.

Fry’s Pharmacy

Tolleson, AZ

Whitney Rice is a clinical coordinator for Fry’s Pharmacy. “She serves as an inspiration to existing pharmacists and students not only at our organization, but for all pharmacy professionals across the state,” her nominator wrote.

Greatest Achievements

I am proud of creating a PGY1 community pharmacy residency program with my employer and local college of pharmacy.

Source of Inspiration

I see the impact my mentors have created to make my career more fulfilling, and I am inspired to improve the current state of our profession for the next generation of pharmacists.

Personal Philosophy

Do not waste time stressing about things that are out of your control. If you focus too much on planning for the unknown, you might miss an opportunity to experience something incredible.

Vision for Pharmacy

As pharmacists, we know how to improve patient outcomes; however, we need to work together to demonstrate our value to patients and other health care providers. In the coming years, I hope to see pharmacists from all practice settings supporting provider status and pharmacist integration into the health care team.

Albertsons Safeway Pharmacies

Fullerton, CA

Linda Woods in a clinical point person for Albertsons Safeway Pharmacies. “Linda’s accomplishments and humanitarianism in the community reflect the genuine care she provides patients every day,” her nominator wrote.

Greatest Achievements

I am proud of my work in diabetes education. One patient, in particular, has had diabetes for over 15 years and was legally blind. By reading all the material to him over the next 6 months, he finally understood his disease for the first time and was able to reduce his A1C from 11 to 7.7.

Source of Inspiration

I have a passion for pharmacy and determination to be the best source of education for every patient I encounter. I’m inspired when patients with diabetes, empowered by my education, improve their health and change their lives.

Personal Philosophy

Who I am makes a difference…one patient at a time! My diverse professional career has led me to the place I am today. I’m grateful and humbled to be in a profession I love!

Vision for Pharmacy

California pharmacists are now recognized providers in the health care team. It’s time to step out from behind the counter, engage every patient, and rise to the top of our profession!
